Security Heightened Across Singapore

As of 13 October, the government in Singapore has heightened security measures in the country. The security agencies have stepped in to monitor the situation in the light of the situation in Gaza. Authorities believe that in Singapore there may be places which could become possible targets (potential Jewish communities and pro-Palestinian events) for attacks by Hamas militants or their supporters. Singapore has been referred to as ‘an attractive target’. The government has also detained Singaporean nationals under the Internal Security Act as they were following pro-Hamas narratives and wanted to join the conflict.
