Popular hotel in Mogadishu, Somalia, attacked.

After detonating a car bomb at the security gate of the popular Dayah Hotel, terrorists entered the hotel and opened fire. At least 4 security guards and 11 civilians were killed and 51 people were injured. The terrorist group al-Shabab has claimed responsibility. A second massive car bomb exploded after ambulances and journalists arrived at the scene, leaving at least four reporters wounded.

Due to lack of personal security, frequent armed conflict and terrorist attacks, many countries advise their citizens to avoid travelling in this country. If travel is essential, avoid government buildings, police installations, and areas frequented by alrge groups of people, e.g., markets, cafes, popular hotels, etc.
