Bridge Collapse in Dresden - Germany

On 11 September, a section of the Carola Bridge in Dresden collapsed into the Elbe River. No injuries or casualties were reported. The collapse damaged pipes, interrupting the heating system of the city. Travel between Dresden’s Old Town and New Town has been affected for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists. Tram traffic has been disrupted. Boat traffic has also been halted, affecting cargo ships and tourism sightseeing vessels. Repair operations are underway.
