On 24 May, Airbnb said it will wind down its domestic operations in China from July 30. The decision comes in the wake of Airbnb garnering roughly 1% from its China-based operations in recent years. Adding to the company’s woes were China’s strict COVID-19 policies that restricted intra-state and inter-state travel. However, the company said its platform will be available to users in China to book listings and experiences abroad.
