Entry Prohibited After Bulusan Volcano Eruption - Philippines

On 5 June, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology raised its alert level to level 1 on the Bulusan volcano located in Sorsogon province. The alert level was raised after 29 volcanic earthquakes were recorded amid the spewing of ash. Bulusan, Juban, Irosin, and Sorsogon have been marked as affected areas. Sixty families have been evacuated with rescue and relief operations currently underway. The institute has prohibited entry to the 4 km radius of the Permanent Danger Zones and the Extended Danger Zones without surveillance. The ban also extends to any aircraft flying close to the volcano.
