Cases of Hand-Foot-Mouth Disease Increase in Hanoi, Vietnam

The city of Hanoi has reported significant increases in reported cases of the hand-foot-mouth disease. On average, there were 24 to 26 cases of hand-foot-and-mouth disease each week for the past 7-8 weeks. However, in the last week, the number of infected children rose to 56.

The risk of exposure will vary from place to place. Small children are most susceptible to infection with this virus. Travellers who are travelling with small children can decrease the risk of exposure to hand-foot-mouth disease virus by washing hands frequently and by maintaining careful personal hygiene.
