Det hele startede for lidt over 6 m\u00e5neder siden, da det f\u00f8rste tilf\u00e6lde blev rapporteret i St. Martin hos en rejsende, der var blevet smittet i en anden del af verden (Syd\u00f8stasien eller Afrika), hvor denne virus er almindelig.<\/p>\n<p id=\"7cd5\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p\">Nu ansl\u00e5s det, at der kan v\u00e6re mere end <a class=\"markup--anchor markup--p-anchor\" href=\"http:\/\/http:\/\/www.examiner.com\/article\/chikungunya-illnesses-continue-to-spread\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-href=\"http:\/\/http:\/\/www.examiner.com\/article\/chikungunya-illnesses-continue-to-spread\">300.000 tilf\u00e6lde<\/a> af chikungunya-feber i 22 lande i det caribiske omr\u00e5de. Der er blevet rapporteret titusindvis af tilf\u00e6lde fra Haiti og Den Dominikanske Republik, som er h\u00e5rdt ramt.<\/p>\n<p id=\"3fcf\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p\">S\u00e5 kan du f\u00e5 det, mens du ligger p\u00e5 strandene i turistomr\u00e5derne? Ja, det kan du. Man kan f\u00e5 denne virus overalt, hvor der er myg, som spreder denne infektion, og det er stort set overalt i Caribien. Og indtil videre har der i USA v\u00e6ret 141 tilf\u00e6lde i 29 stater hos personer, der er vendt tilbage fra bes\u00f8g i Caribien. N\u00e6sten halvdelen af disse tilf\u00e6lde er fra Florida.<\/p>\n<p id=\"1da5\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p graf--trailing\">Hvorfor bekymre sig, da denne sygdom meget sj\u00e6ldent er d\u00f8delig, og da mange mennesker, der bliver smittet, ikke har nogen symptomer overhovedet? Hvis du er en af dem, er det godt, men hvis ikke, vil du have feber og meget alvorlige ledsmerter, der kan v\u00e6re invaliderende og kan vare i uger og endda m\u00e5neder.
